So we're just over the halfway mark for our cruising season but the Kimberley's are still managing to 'turn it on' for all of our passengers. The recent cruise 8 which returned to Broome on the 26/6 was one of the
trips that stood out in particular for me. It never ceases to amaze me
how people from all over Australia, with varied backgrounds can come
together with a shared love for this part of the world and form solid
friendships by the end of the week. The way everybody was laughing and
carrying on, you could have sworn they were school friends.
The recent rains have meant that the Kimberley's are still looking
relatively green and those beautiful waterfalls are still pumping. The
fishing was also unbelievable with a few first timers hopefully catching
the bug after hooking up some nice tuna, mackeral, queenfish and creek
species. 'I don't see what's so hard about fishing', they reckon!!
We still had time to get a few oysters and have a sunset drink on a secluded beach.
Thanks to all the passengers who came aboard, you really made my week
and I now know that blowing on the top of an empty beer bottle is the
universal signal for a top up; thanks Mark!
